Pray for the Fear of God and for the Love of God to be Rooted in you

Petition 3.20 | NIV

I must pray for the fear of God.

Lord, work in me that fear of you, which is the beginning of wisdom, Psalm 111:10(NIV) which teaches a man wisdom, Proverbs 15:33(NIV) and which is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27(NIV)

Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name; Psalm 86:11(NIV) that I may keep your commandments, which is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13(NIV)

O inspire me to fear you, so that I may never turn away from you. Jeremiah 32:40(NIV) Let me be devoted to your fear; Psalm 119:38(KJV) and let me always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. Proverbs 23:17(NIV)

I must pray that the love of God and Christ may be rooted in me and, in order to that end, that the love of the world may be rooted out of me.

Give me grace, I beg you, to love you, the Lord my God, with all my heart and soul and mind and strength, Mark 12:30(NIV) which is the first and greatest commandment; Matthew 22:37-38(NIV) to set my love upon you; Psalm 91:14(NIV) and to delight myself always in you; and therein I shall have the desires of my heart. Psalm 37:4(NIV)

Circumcise my heart to love you, the Lord my God, with all my heart and with all my soul, that I may live. Deuteronomy 30:6(NIV)

O that God may pour out his love into my heart by the Holy Spirit! Romans 5:5(NIV)

O that Jesus Christ may be very precious to me, as he is to all who believe; 1 Peter 2:7(NIV) that he may be in my account outstanding among ten thousand, Song of Solomon 5:10(NIV) and altogether lovely; and that he may be my lover and my friend: Song of Solomon 5:16(NIV) That though I have not seen him, yet I may love him; and even though I do not see him now, I may believe in him and be filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. 1 Peter 1:89NIV)

Let Christ’s love for me constrain me to live no longer for myself, but for him who died for me and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15(NIV)

And, Lord, grant that I may not love the world or anything in the world, because if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 1 John 2:15(NIV) grant that I may set my mind on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2(NIV)

Lord, give me so to be crucified with Christ that the life I live in the body, I may live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me; Galatians 2:20(NIV) and so to always carry around with me the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in my mortal body. 2 Corinthians 4:10(NIV)

Just as I have received Christ Jesus as Lord, enable me to continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as I have been taught, overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7(NIV)

Let every word of yours be of value to me, being combined with faith, Hebrews 4:2(NIV) by which I accept your testimony and certify that God is truthful. John 3:33(NIV)

I beg you, work in me that faith which is sure of what I hope for and certain of what I do not see, Hebrews 11:1(NIV) by which I may fix my eyes not on what is seen, which is temporary, but on what is unseen, which is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18(NIV)

Enable me by faith to set the LORD always before me, Psalm 16:8(NIV) and to have my eyes ever on him, Psalm 25:15(NIV) so that I may act in everything as seeing him who is invisible and may look ahead to my reward. Hebrews 11:26-27(NIV)

Let my heart be purified by faith, Acts 15:9(NIV) and let it be my victory that overcomes the world. 1 John 5:4(NIV) Let me be kept from fainting by believing that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13(KJV)

Pray for Grace to Sanctify your Nature

Petition 3.18 | NIV

To sanctify my nature, to plant in me all holy principles and dispositions, and to increase every grace in me.

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify me through and through; and I pray God, may my whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of my Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls me is faithful and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24(NIV)

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Psalm 51:10-12(NIV)

Write your law on my heart and put it in my mind, Jeremiah 31:33(NIV) that I may be a letter from Christ, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on a tablet of stone but on a tablet of human heart; 2 Corinthians 3:3(NIV) that the law of my God being in my heart, my feet may not slip, Psalm 37:31(NIV) and I may desire to do your will, O God; Psalm 40:8(NIV) may delight in God’s law in my inner being. Romans 7:22(NIV)

O that I may wholeheartedly obey the form of teaching to which I have been entrusted, Romans 6:17(NIV) that my whole soul may be leavened by it; Matthew 13:33(NIV) and that I may not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of my mind; Romans 12:2(NIV) that I may not conform to the evil desires I had when I lived in ignorance, but as an obedient child, may I be holy in all I do, as he who called me is holy. 1 Peter 1:14-15(NIV)
