Thank God for the Dominion and Sovereignty to which the Redeemer has been Exalted

Thanksgiving 4.24 | NASB

For the dominion and sovereignty to which the Redeemer has been exalted.

I thank You that because the Lord Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross, therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of JESUS every knee will bow and every tongue confess (as I do at this time) that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:8-11(NASB)

That all authority has been given to Him both in heaven and on earth; Matthew 28:18(NASB) that You have appointed Him over the works of Your hands and have put all things in subjection under His feet, and so have crowned Him with glory and honor. Hebrews 2:7-9(NASB)

That He is King of kings and Lord of lords; Revelation 19:16(NASB) that the Ancient of days has given Him dominion and glory and a kingdom, an everlasting dominion and a kingdom which will not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14(NASB)

That the government is on His shoulders, and that His name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace; and of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. Isaiah 9:6-7(NASB)

That You have installed Him as a King upon Zion, Your holy mountain; Psalm 2:6(NASB) and that He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, Luke 1:33(NASB) will reign until He has put down all opposing rule, principality, and power, 1 Corinthians 15:24-25(NASB) until all His enemies are made a footstool for His feet; Hebrews 10:13(NASB) and then He will hand over the kingdom to God, even the Father, 1 Corinthians 15:24(NASB) that God may be all in all. 1 Corinthians 15:28(NASB)

Thank God for Christ’s Intercession

Thanksgiving 4.23 | NASB

For the intercession which He ever lives to make in the virtue of His satisfaction.

I thank You that having bore the sin of many, Christ makes intercession for transgressors, Isaiah 53:12(NASB) and prays, not only for those who were given to Him when He was on earth, but also for all those who believe in Him through their word; that they all may be one. John 17:20-21(NASB)

That I have an Advocate with the Father, even Jesus Christ the righteous, 1 John 2:1(NASB) who is therefore able to save forever all those who draw near to God as a Father, through Him as a Mediator, since He always lives to make intercession for His people. Hebrews 7:25(NASB)

That I have a High Priest taken from among men and appointed on behalf of men in things pertaining to God, in order to offer both gifts and sacrifice for sin, who can deal gently with the ignorant and misguided; Hebrews 5:1-2(NASB) and that He has become to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation. Hebrews 5:9(NASB)

Thank God for Christ’s Ascension into Heaven

Thanksgiving 4.22 | NASB

For His ascension into heaven, and His sitting at God’s right hand there.

I bless You that my Lord Jesus has ascended to His Father and my Father, to His God and my God; John 20:17(NASB) has ascended on high, having led captive His captives, and has received gifts among men, even among the rebellious also, that the LORD God may dwell there. Psalm 68:18(NASB)

That as the Forerunner He has for me entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for me: Hebrews 9:24(NASB) a Lamb standing, as if slain, in the midst of the throne. Revelation 5:6(NASB)

That He has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, Hebrews 8:1(NASB) angels and authorities and powers having been subjected to Him. 1 Peter 3:22(NASB)

That He has gone before, to prepare a place for me in His Father’s house, where there are many dwelling places; John 14:2-3(NASB) and though where He has gone I cannot follow Him now, yet I hope to follow Him later, John 13:36(NASB) when He will come again to receive me to Himself, that where He is, there I may be also. John 14:3(NASB)

Thank God for Christ’s Resurrection

Thanksgiving 4.21 | NASB

For His resurrection from the dead on the third day.

I thank You that as He was delivered over because of my transgressions, so He was raised because of my justification, Romans 4:25(NASB) and was declared to be the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:4(NASB)

That though He was dead, yet He is alive and lives forevermore and has the keys of death and of Hades; Revelation 1:18(NASB) and having been raised from the dead, He is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. Romans 6:9(NASB)

That now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep; 1 Corinthians 15:20(NASB) that as in Adam all died, so also in Christ all might be made alive, and each in his own order. 1 Corinthians 15:22-23(NASB)

That God did not allow His Holy One to undergo decay, Acts 2:27(NASB) but put an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power, Acts 2:24(NASB) and so declared to all the house of Israel that this Jesus whom they crucified is both Lord and Christ. Acts 2:36(NASB)

And that to this end Christ both died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living, Romans 14:9(NASB) and that whether I am awake or asleep, I might live together with Him.

Thank God for the Cross of Christ and All Its Benefits (continued)

Thanksgiving 4.20 | NASB

That being manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, Hebrews 9:26(NASB) Christ did through the eternal Spirit offer Himself without blemish to God, Hebrews 9:14(NASB) and through His own blood entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Hebrews 9:12(NASB)

That He has disarmed the rulers and authorities, and made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through His cross, and has cancelled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against me, which was hostile to me, taking it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Colossians 2:14-15(NASB)

That He Himself is my peace, who, having broken down the barrier of the dividing wall between Jew and Gentile, has made in Himself the two into one new man, has reconciled them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. Ephesians 2:14-16(NASB)

That He has loved me and released me from my sins by His blood, and has made His people to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father. Revelation 1:5-6(NASB)

O the height and depth and length and breadth of that love of Christ which surpasses knowledge! Ephesians 3:18-19(NASB) O that great love with which He loved me! Ephesians 2:4(NASB)

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing; Revelation 5:12(NASB) for He was slain, and has purchased me for God with His blood. Revelation 5:9(NASB)

Thank God for the Cross of Christ and All Its Benefits

Thanksgiving 4.19 | NASB

For the full satisfaction which He made to the justice of God for the sin of man by the blood of His cross, for the purchases, victories, and triumphs of the cross, and for all the precious benefits which flow to me from the dying of the Lord Jesus.

Herein indeed God demonstrates His own love toward me, in that while I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me, Romans 5:8(NASB) that I might be reconciled to Him through the death of His Son. Romans 5:10(NASB) In this is love, not that I loved God, but that He loved me and sent His Son to be the propitiation for my sins; 1 John 4:10(NASB) and not for mine only, but for those of the whole world; 1 John 2:2(NASB) that He tasted death for everyone, Hebrews 2:9(NASB) that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. Hebrews 2:14(NASB)

I bless You that by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified; Hebrews 10:14(NASB) that He has finished transgression, made an end of sin, made atonement for iniquity, and has brought in an everlasting righteousness. Daniel 9:24(NASB)

That He has redeemed me from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for me. Galatians 3:13(NASB)

That what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God has done by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, who by a sacrifice for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. Romans 8:3(NASB)

That He was pierced through for my transgressions and crushed for my iniquities; that the chastening for my well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging I am healed; and that the LORD, having caused the iniquity of all His people to fall on Him, Isaiah 53:5-6(NASB) was pleased to crush Him and put Him to grief. Isaiah 53:10(NASB)

Thank God for the Great Encouragement Christ Gave to Poor Sinners to Come to Him

Thanksgiving 4.18 | NASB

For the great encouragement Christ gave to poor sinners to come to Him.

I bless You that Jesus Christ did not come to call the righteous, but sinners (such as myself) to repentance, Matthew 9:13(NASB) and had authority on earth to forgive sins; Matthew 9:6(NASB) that He came to save His people from their sins, Matthew 1:21(NASB) and is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world; John 1:29(NASB) and that He is (to His honor, not to His reproach) a friend to tax collectors and sinners. Matthew 11:19(NASB)

I thank You for the gracious invitation He gave to those who are weary and heavy-laden to come to Him for rest: Matthew 11:28(NASB) And for the assurance He has given, that whoever comes to Him, He will certainly not cast out. John 6:37(NASB)

That He made a gracious offer, that if anyone is thirsty they might come to Him and drink. John 7:37(NASB)

Thank God for Christ’s Holy Life, Excellent Doctrine, and Glorious Miracles

Thanksgiving 4.17 | NASB

For His holy life, His excellent doctrine, and the glorious miracles He wrought to confirm His doctrine.

I bless You for the assurance I have that Jesus has come from God as a teacher, since no one could do those signs which he did unless God was with him. John 3:2(NASB)

That You have in these last days spoken in Your Son, Hebrews 1:2(NASB) whose teaching was not His, but His who sent Him; John 7:16(NASB) and He spoke as one having authority; Matthew 7:29(NASB) and that I am encouraged to come and learn from Him, because He is gentle and humble in heart, and in learning of Him I will find rest for my soul. Matthew 11:29(NASB)

I bless You that He has left me an example for me to follow in His steps, in that He committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; 1 Peter 2:21-23(NASB) and His food and drink was to do the will of His Father, John 4:34(NASB) in that He was holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners. Hebrews 7:26(NASB) O that I may be armed with the same purpose, 1 Peter 4:1(NASB) and that as He was, so also may I be in this world; 1 John 4:17(NASB) and that I may walk in the same manner as He walked. 1 John 2:6(NASB)

I bless You that the works which He did testify about Him, that the Father has sent Him; John 5:36(NASB) that by His power the blind received their sight, the lame walked, the lepers were cleansed, the deaf heard, the dead were raised up, and the poor had the gospel preached to them, Matthew 11:5(NASB) and even the winds and the sea obeyed Him, Matthew 8:27(NASB) for which I glorify the God of Israel. Matthew 15:31(NASB) Truly this was the Son of God! Matthew 27:54(NASB)

Thank God for His Gracious Owning of Christ in His Undertaking

Thanksgiving 4.16 | NASB

For God’s gracious owning of Him in His undertaking, and in the carrying of it out.

I bless You that You were in Christ reconciling the world to Yourself, not counting their trespasses against them, and that You have committed to Your people the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19(NASB)

That You have Yourself made Him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples; Isaiah 55:4(NASB) that He was sanctified and sealed, John 6:27(NASB) and sent into the world; John 10:36(NASB) and that the Father who sent Him did not leave him alone, for He always did the things that are pleasing to Him. John 8:29(NASB)

Glory be to God in the highest, for in and through Jesus Christ there is on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased. Luke 2:14(NASB)

By this the love of God was manifested, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that all who are His might live through Him. 1 John 4:9(NASB)

I thank You that you have given Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. John 17:2(NASB)

Thank God for the Wonderful Incarnation of the Son of God

Thanksgiving 4.15 | NASB

For the wonderful and mysterious incarnation of the Son of God and His coming into the world.

I bless You that when the fullness of time came, You sent forth Your Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that Your people might receive the adoption as sons. Galatians 4:4-5(NASB)

That the eternal Word became flesh and dwelt among men, and there were those who saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14(NASB) By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness, that God was revealed in the flesh. 1 Timothy 3:16(NASB)

I bless You that for this He was born and for this He came into the world, to testify to the truth; John 18:37(NASB) and I believe and have come to know that He is the Christ, the Holy One of God; John 6:69(NASB) that it is He who should come, and I am to look for no other.

I bless You that the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost; Luke 19:10(NASB) that He has come that I might have life, and have it abundantly; John 10:10(NASB) and that the Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8(NASB)

Lord, I receive it as a trustworthy saying, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, even the foremost. 1 Timothy 1:15(NASB)

I bless You that since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same: Hebrews 2:14(NASB) That He does not give help to angels, but to His people, and was made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people; Hebrews 2:16-17(NASB) and that He is not ashamed to call them brethren. Hebrews 2:11(NASB)

And that the firstborn was brought into the world with a charge given to all the angels of God to worship Him. Hebrews 1:6(NASB)
