Pray for a Tender Conscience and God-Wrought Love

4.3.9

We must pray that our consciences may be always tender and that we may live a life of repentance.

Lord, remove the heart of stone from our flesh and give us a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 11:19(ESV)

Make us afraid of every form of evil, 1 Thessalonians 5:22(ESV) and careful not to be outwitted by Satan, since we are not ignorant of his designs. 2 Corinthians 2:11(ESV)

Lord, give us the happiness which they have who fear always; Psalm 128:1(ESV) that when we think we stand, we may take heed lest we fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12(ESV)

4.3.10

We must pray to God to work in us charity and brotherly love.

Lord, put upon us that love which binds everything together in perfect harmony, Colossians 3:14(ESV) that we may maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, Ephesians 4:3(ESV) and may live in love of peace, that the God of love and peace may be with us. 2 Corinthians 13:11(ESV)

Lord, give us to love our neighbor as ourselves with that love which is the fulfilling of the law; Romans 13:9-10(ESV) to love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 1 Peter 1:22(ESV) that by this all men may know that we are Christ’s disciples. John 13:35(ESV)

And as we are taught by God to love one another, give us to abound therein more and more; 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10(ESV) and as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone; Galatians 6:10(ESV) and so far as it depends on us, let us live peaceably with all men, Romans 12:18(ESV) always pursuing what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. Romans 14:19(ESV)

Lord, make us able to love our enemies, to bless those who curse us, to pray for those who despitefully use us, and to do good to those who hate us; Matthew 5:44(KJV) bearing with one another and forgiving one another in love, as Christ has forgiven us. Colossians 3:13(ESV)
